Ernest Gideon Green was one of the many unsung heroes during the Civil Rights era to have demonstrated commitment to equal rights. In 1957 he volunteered to attend classes at the previously all white Little Rock Central High School. On this day in 1958, his perseverance paid off as he graduated.
