On this day in 1924, James Baldwin was born. Baldwin went on to become one of the most influential chroniclers of Black life in America.
In 1920 on this day Marcus Garvey out doored his Back-to-Africa program. This sentiment of Africans returning to Africa has always been a part of the African struggle in the U.S.
